That alone should be an incentive to the cooperative efforts of all who love their country." ,, ૧૧૩ “કાના ( સ્ત્રીશિક્ષણપ્રસારના ) મામાં અપરિમિત અડચણા છે. પક સ્ત્રીપુરૂષાને જ યશ મળવાને સંભવ છે. શિક્ષણના ધારણનું ધ્યેય વ્યા- પક રાખવામાં ખર્ચ પણ ઘણું થવાનુ અને શિક્ષકા મેળવવામાં ઘણી મુશ્કેલી નડવાની. આનાં કારણેા અનેક છે, અને તે ખુલ્લાં છે. પરંતુ સ્ત્રીશિક્ષણની આવશ્યકતા સઘળી હિંદી જનતા કબુલ રાખે તે અર્ધી લડાઇ તેા જીતાઈ ગણાય. એક વખત એ સમાન્ય થાય એટલે લાકમતમાં ફેર પડી જાય. શિક્ષણ- ના ઉચ્ચ ધધામાં પડનાર વ્યકિતને દરજ્જો વધે તે પછી શિક્ષકા મેળવવામાં હાલ પડે છે તેટલી મુશ્કેલીએ પડે નહિ. આ કામમાં નિષ્ફળતા મળે એ સાહજીક છે, પણ હાલ પ્રેા. કર્વેની પૂનાની નાની સંસ્થાનું ભારતવર્ષીય મહિલાવિદ્યાપીઠમાં રૂપાંતર થવાથી આ કામ પહેલાનાં જેટલું નિરાશાજનક રહ્યું નથી. અને ધ્યેય તેા ઉજ્જવલ છે જ. માત્ર આ ધ્યેય પર નજર કરવાથી જ સઘળા સ્વદેશપ્રેમીઓને પ્રયાસ કરવામાં સ્મ્રુતિ મળે એમ છે.” દિલ્હીમાં તા ૭ મી ફેબરૂઆરી ૧૯૨૮ ના રાજ હિંદની સ્ત્રીઓની અખિલ ભારતવર્ષીય શૈક્ષણિક પરિષદ ભરાઈ હતી. તેમાં લેડી છિને જે ભાષણ કર્યું હતું તેમાં હિંદુસ્થાનની સ્ત્રીએના શિક્ષણ વિષે નીચેના વિચાર તેમણે પ્રદર્શિત કર્યા હતા. Lady Irwin said in her address to the All India Women's Conference:— “ To-day we see Girl's education developing on lines which are slavish imitation of boy's education. It is surely inappropriate that the curriculum for girls should be decided by the necessity of studying for a certain examination so that it may perforce exclude many, if not most of the subjects, we would most wish girls to learn. If public opinion, for example, demands that matriculation should be always the first
