history and social evolution have realised that the best guarantee for political prosperity in a nation is the growth of the sense of Duty [૧]among its individuals ; and, long before that sense was born in thy country, it was fully recognised in this country with successful yearning by my lord and husband that high Duty was to be the eldest and ruling one among the five Sovereign Spirits whom he had brought down from Heaven to succeed to his glorious inheritance. Nay, the very mother of those who then represented thy party could only venture to bless this Duty - this Dharma – with success, and could not put in a single word to bless thee and thy numerous crew in that terrible conflict which , then shook the earth and has so often been repeated, in this battle-field with a singularly uniform result, Short-sighted flash of the National Ego ! In vain dost thou believe that India is doomed to destruction. Thou art bound and destined, in spite of thy deep-drawn grunt, to take India up the heights of Progress until you can both co-operate in furtherance of the common weal of the still waster world.”
“ પુત્રી પાઞ્ચાલી ! આ દુષ્ટનાં કઠોર વચનનું ગ્રહણ કરજે પણ ગભરાઈશ નહી ! એવાં વચનથી તું સચેત થજે – એ તો માતલિ દુષ્યન્તના મિત્રને પકડી સંતાઈને બોલતો હોય એમ જ સમજજે ને સચેત થજે ! પુત્રી ત્હારી પ્રજા અનાથ નથી ! એ દુર્યોધનની નીતિ સર્પરૂપ હશે તે તારી પાસે પુષ્પમાલા થઈ જશે ! "
કુમુદ૦- કુન્તીમાતા, ઈંગ્રેજી બોલે છે તે નવાઈ જેવું નથી ?
સર૦- સિદ્ધનગરમાં સર્વ ભાષાઓ સર્વેને સાધ્ય થાય છે.
પાઞ્ચલી- માતાજી ! હું આર્યપુત્રોની છાયાઓને સામે હિમાચલના હિમરાશિ ઉપર દેખું છું.
