રજીસ્ટ્રારે વિદ્યાપીઠની પ્રગતિ વિષેનેા એક ન્હાનકડા રીપોર્ટ પ્રસિદ્ધ કર્યા
હતેા તેમાં નીચેનાં વાકયેા હતાંઃ—

“ The desirability of a separate University for
women is not now an open question and strenuous
efforts are being made to make it a success.”
“ સ્ત્રીએ માટે સ્વતંત્ર યુનિવર્સિટી ોઇએ કે નહિ એ પ્રશ્ન હવે વાદ-
ગ્રસ્ત રહ્યો નથી. તેને યશસ્વી બનાવવા માટે તનતેાડ પ્રયાસ ચાલે છે.”
આ રિપોર્ટ પર ટીકા રૂપે ૧૯૧૭ ની ૮ મી એપ્રિલના રિફેારમાં
નીચેનાં વાકયેા છે:—
“ It is, in the least, inopportune to say that the
desirability.........open question." It appears rather
that the enthusiasm for the moment is distinctly on
the wane."
“ ‘સ્ત્રીએ માટે સ્વતંત્ર યુનિવર્સિટી જોઇએ કે નહિ એ પ્રશ્ન હવે
વાદગ્રસ્ત રહ્યો નથી,’ અમ કહેવું એ કંઈ નહિ તે અપ્રાસંગિક તેા છે
જ. ખરી સ્થિતિ તે એવી છે કે આ હિલચાલ માટેના ઉત્સાહની હવે એટ
થવા લાગી છે.
૧૯૧૭ ના ૮ મી જુલાઈના અંક પછી રિફ્ારના લખાણાનેા ઝાક
ચેાડા બદલાયા. તે પહેલાં થાડા જ વખત પર મુંબાઇ ઇલાકાના શિક્ષકાની
પરિષદ મુંબાઇમાં ભરાઇ હતી તેમાં આ વિદ્યાપીને અભિનંદન આપવાને ડરાવ
પસાર થયા હતા. તેને અનુલક્ષી ૮ મી જુલાઇના અંકમાં નીચેનાં વાકયેા હતાં:-
“ We are glad to join in the welcome accorded to
Prof. Karve's Women's University and in the hope that,
that experiment will prove a success. The need for
facilities for women's education is so vast and pressing
that it is foolish to pin our faith in any one plan
and method.Numerous and repeated experiments are
necessary to determine what the best and most suita-
ble scheme is in the conditions of the country."
