2019/4/28 રા. મ. ન. દ્વિના અન્યગ્રંથા ૧૦૦૭ પ્રકારની ગમત। આપણા મનમાંથી હાંકી કાઢે છે અને જે દયાની લાગણી આપણા સ્વભાવતું આભુષણુ ગણાય તેને એ ગમતા પુષ્ટિ આપે છે, અને કેળવે છે.........એકદર જોતાં ઃ- ટલેક દરજ્જે આ નાટક (કાન્તા ) આવા પ્રકારનું છે... હિતેચ્છુ. “ વકલ્પિત નાટક લખવામાં એ ગૃહસ્થને આ પહેલા પ્રયાસ છે, તે ઉપરથી જણાય છે કે આગળ ઉપર એ પાતાની વિદ્વત્તાથી વધારે દીપી નીકળશે. ” બુદ્ધિપ્રકાશ, પા. ૪૪ પુ. ૨૯ અ. ૬. ભાવનગરના વિદ્વાન નાયબ દીવાન સાહેબ રા. રા. વજેશંકરભાઇ લખે છે કેઃ— સ દરહુ પુસ્તક ( કાન્તા) ધણી સારી અને અસરકારક ઇબારતથી લખાયલુ છે. તેમજ સ્ત્રીનુ પતિવ્રત મણુપર્યંત પણ જાળવી રાખવાને ઘણા સારેા ધડા મળે એવું એ પુરતક છે. જે જે સ્ત્રીને વાંચતાં આવડતું હાય તેઓએ એ પુસ્તક જરૂર કરી વાંચવું એ ધણું સલાહકારક છે. ” ..........In its literary quality the work is above the level of mediocrity and the language is simple and natural.........But Kanta will be best liked for its sentiment. The picture of unsw- erving conjugal fidelity is very vivid......" Kanta" may not pr- ove sensational, but we prefer it as it is. To the student of Hi- ndoo Gujarati character the book under notice may open a lar. ge field of observation and comparison, whilst the general reader will find much in Kanta that will catch his emotions and leave. him a purer man than he was.
