In one respect you are in advance of all our play-writers. Our people do not seem to have any conception of the Unity of Action. But this you have suceessfully brought out.....You are undoubtedly gaining in lucidity...... Moreover, you make something like a promising approach towards classical diction; and your verses though oftlen pregnant can flow with comparative ease......" Writes a graduate from Rajkot- "I have perused your Kanta and have found the plot well and artistically arranged. The language too is on the whole clear. Your innovation of blank verse in Gujarati is agreeable to me and I too intend to follow the same path. મહા કવિ શ્રી ભવભૂતિ પ્રણિત, —માલતી માધવ- સંસ્કૃતમાંથી ગુજરાતીમાં ટીકા સહિત ઉદ્યપદ્યાત્મક ભષાંતર.-ખીજી આવૃત્તિ− ( થાય છે ) “ આ ( માલતી માધવ ) પુસ્તકના ભાષાન્તરનેા કર્તા એક ઉંચી કેલવણી પામેલા ઍલ્ફિન્સ્ટન કોલેજના ગ્રેજ્યુએટ છે. અને ભાષાન્તર ઉપરથી તેના સંસ્કૃત જ્ઞાનને માટે હમને ધણા ઊંચા વિચાર આવે છે. જગદ્દર જેવા ટીકાકાર અને પ્રાફ઼ેસર બાન્ડારકર જેવા એડી- ટર માલતીમાધવને મળ્યા છે એટલે ભવભુતિના લખાણની બુતિ સંસ્કૃત સમજનારને ધણી આલ્હાદક થઇ પડે છે; અને મી. મણિલાલના ભાષાન્તરથી ગુજરાતી સમજનાર આલમને પણ કાલિદાસથી સહજ ઉતરતા મહાકવિની ખુખીની તુલના કરવાનું બની આવે છે......... ગુજરાતી. તા. ૧૧ સપ્ટેમ્બર ૧૮૮૧, આ વિના સર્વ પાસાથી ઉત્તમ અભિપ્રાય આવેલા છે.
