પ્રિય Snehrashmi, પ્રૂફરીડથોન પર ટિપ્પણી અને મંતવ્યો માટેની ચર્ચા અહીં ચાલુ કરવામાં આવી છે. ગયા વર્ષે આપણે બે પ્રૂફરીડથોન સ્પર્ધાનું આયોજન કર્યું હતું. ભવિષ્યમાં ઇંડિક વિકિસ્રોતની આ સ્પર્ધાના આયોજનની આકારણી માટે આપની ટિપ્પણીઓ, સુઝાવો, મંતવ્યો આદિની જરૂર છે. આ મંતવ્યો લખવા માટે અંગ્રેજી ભાષાનો પ્રયોગ ઇચ્છનીય છે તેમ છતાં જો આપ અંગ્રેજી ન લખી શકોઇ તો આપની માતૃભાષામાં પણ વિન કોઈ ખચકાટ આપના મંતવ્યો જણાવશો.

- વિકિસ્રોત પર અખિલ ભારતીય પ્રૂફરીડેથોનનું વાર્ષિક આયોજન એ એક ઉમદા પહેલ છે. પ્રતિયોગિતાના નિયમો અને ગુણાંક પદ્ધતિ માટે ખાસ્સી ચર્ચા-વિચારણા ચાલી રહી છે. આ પૂર્વે પણ ગત પ્રતિયોગિતા દરમિયાન આ બાબત ચર્ચાનો વિષય રહ્યો હતો. આ સંદર્ભમાં આપણે સૌએ સૌ પ્રથમ એ સુનિશ્ચિત કરવાનું છે કે આ પ્રૂફરીડેથોનનું આયોજન કરવા પાછળનો આપણો મુખ્ય હેતુ શું છે. નવા સભ્યોને વિકિસ્રોતના મંચ પર આકર્ષિત કરવા ? કે ખૂબ જ ટૂંકા ગાળામાં વિકિસ્રોત પર શક્ય તેટલું સાહિત્ય ઉમેરવું ? અને આ બધાની સમાંતરે આપણી સમક્ષ એક પડકાર એ પણ છે કે ગુણવત્તાનું એક નિયત સ્તર જાળવી રાખવું.
મારા મતે જો આપણે નવા આગંતુકોને વિકિસ્રોત પર જોડવા ઈચ્છીએ છીએ તો આપણે નિયમોમાં થોડી હળવાશ રાખવી પડશે. પ્રોત્સાહન માટે ઈનામો જરૂરી છે. (આમ છતાં, બાહ્ય આકર્ષણો ક્યારેય આંતરિક પ્રેરણાથી ઉપર જઈ શકતા નથી.)
હું વ્યક્તિગત રીતે એવો મત ધરાવું છું કે દેખીતી રીતે નહિ તો પણ, આપણે પ્રતિયોગિતાને બે ભાગમાં વહેંચીને જોવી પડશે. એક વિભાગ પ્રૂફરીડનું કામ કરે. જ્યારે બીજો વિભાગ, જે પ્રતિયોગિતા દરમિયાન ગુણવત્તાની ચિંતા કરે છે તે, વેલીડેશનનું કામ કરે. નવા સભ્યોનો ઉત્સાહ (તથા ઇનામ મેળવવાનો જોશ) અને અનુભવી સભ્યોના ગુણવત્તાલક્ષી સંપાદનો આ પ્રૂફરીડેથોનના આયોજન પાછળના આપણા ઉમદા લક્ષોને સંતુલિત કરે શકે છે.
ગુણવત્તા સંબંધી જે પણ પ્રશ્નોનો આપણે સામનો કરી રહ્યા છીએ તેનું સંપૂર્ણપણે નિરાકરણ વ્યવહારું રીતે શક્ય નથી. આપણે એ સમસ્યાઓની હાજરીમાં જ આપણા લક્ષ્યાંકોને પ્રાપ્ત કરવા પડશે. છેવટે તો એ યોગદાનકર્તાના ઉપર નિર્ભર છે કે તે પોતાને ગુણવત્તાના માપદંડથી તોલે છે કે માત્રાત્મક યોગદાનથી.

WMF Board Governance meeting Gujarati community on March 7 (Sunday) from 12 pm to 1 pm[ફેરફાર કરો]
The Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees is organizing a call for feedback about community selection processes between February 1 and March 14. While the Wikimedia Foundation and the movement have grown about five times in the past ten years, the Board’s structure and processes have remained basically the same. As the Board is designed today, we have a problem of capacity, performance, and lack of representation of the movement’s diversity. Our current processes to select individual volunteer and affiliate seats have some limitations. Direct elections tend to favor candidates from the leading language communities, regardless of how relevant their skills and experience might be in serving as a Board member, or contributing to the ability of the Board to perform its specific responsibilities. It is also a fact that the current processes have favored volunteers from North America and Western Europe. As a matter of fact, there had only been one member who served on the Board, from South Asia, in more than fifteen years of history.
In the upcoming months, we need to renew three community seats and appoint three more community members in the new seats. This call for feedback is to see what processes can we all collaboratively design to promote and choose candidates that represent our movement and are prepared with the experience, skills, and insight to perform as trustees? In this regard, a meeting with the Gujarati community has been scheduled to discuss the proposed ideas and collect your thoughts and feedback. The meeting is on March 7 (Sunday) from 12 pm to 1 pm. [Wikimedia Foundation elections 2021] Candidates meet with South Asia + ESEAP communities[ફેરફાર કરો]

As you may already know, the 2021 Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees elections are from 4 August 2021 to 17 August 2021. Members of the Wikimedia community have the opportunity to elect four candidates to a three-year term. After a three-week-long Call for Candidates, there are 20 candidates for the 2021 election.
An event for community members to know and interact with the candidates is being organized. During the event, the candidates will briefly introduce themselves and then answer questions from community members. The event details are as follows:
- Date: 31 July 2021 (Saturday)
- Timings: check in your local time
- Bangladesh: 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm
- India & Sri Lanka: 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm
- Nepal: 4:15 pm to 6:45 pm
- Pakistan & Maldives: 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm
- Live interpretation is being provided in Hindi.

- પુસ્તકસૂચિ: પ્રૂફરીડ કરવા માટેના પુસ્તકોની યાદી. કૃપા કરીને અમને તમારી ભાષાના પુસ્તકો પસંદ કરવામાં મદદ કરો. આ પુસ્તક યુનિકોડ ફોર્મેટ કરેલા લખાણ સાથે કોઈ ત્રીજા પક્ષની વેબસાઇટ પર ઉપલબ્ધ ન હોવું જોઈએ. કૃપા કરીને પુસ્તકો એકત્રિત કરો અને અમારી પ્રતિયોગિતા પૃષ્ઠ પરની પુસ્તકસૂચિમાં ઉમેરો. તમારે અહીં વર્ણવેલી પ્રકાશન અધિકાર માર્ગદર્શિકાનું પાલન કરવું જોઈએ. પુસ્તક શોધ્યા પછી તમારે પુસ્તકના પાનાં તપાસવા જોઈએ અને <pagelist/> બનાવવું જોઈએ.
