કાર્યક્રમ દરમ્યાન જયમ પટેલ

આવો આપણે જાણીએ આ કાર્યક્રમ ભરુચ ખાતે આવેલા નર્મદાનગર કોમ્યુનિટી સાયન્સ સેન્ટરના ઉપક્રમે યોજાયેલા ભરુચ જિલ્લાઓની શાળાઓ માટેના વિજ્ઞાનમેળા દરમ્યાન કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. એમાં ગુજરાતી વિકિપીડિયા તેમજ વિકિસ્ત્રોતનો લાભ કઈ રીતે મેળવી શકાય, હાલમાં કઈ કઈ માહિતીઓ/ પુસ્તકો/ રચનાઓ ઉપલબ્ધ છે, અહીં યોગદાન કઈ રીતે કરી શકાય, ગુજરાતી ભાષામાં કેવી રીતે લખી શકાય, વિકિ નીતિઓ શું છે, વગેરે બાબતોની સમજ લોકોને આપવામાં આવી હતી. આ ઉપરાંત જુદા જુદા લેખો લોકોને કોમ્પ્યુટર પર બતાવ્યા હતા. આ મેળો બે દિવસ ચાલ્યો હતો. ભરુચ રહેતા દેવેન્દ્રસિંહ ગોહિલ, સતિષ પટેલ તથા જયમપટેલ વિકિપીડિઅન તરીકે હાજર રહ્યા હતા.--સતિષ પટેલ (talk) ૨૧:૫૮, ૧૦ ફેબ્રુઆરી ૨૦૧૩ (IST)[ઉત્તર]

આવી જ રીતે આપણે પણ વિકિસ્રોતની વર્ષગાંઠ નિમિત્તે રૂપાયતન ખાતે આયોજન કરવાનું વિચાર્યું છે. હજુ સુધી તારીખ નક્કી નથી કરી. પરંતુ સૌ કોઇને અનુકુળ આવે તે તારીખ/સમયે આયોજન કરીશું.
દરેક શક્ય તક સમયે ગુજરાતી વિકિ માધ્યમોનો પ્રચાર થતો રહે તે ગુજરાતીઓ અને ગુજરાતી બન્ને માટે આવકારદાયક છે. તે સાથે જ જુદી જુદી દિશાઓમાં થતાં સ્વયંસેવી આ પ્રકારનાં કાર્યો - દરેકની પોતાની પ્રાથમિક વ્યાવસાયીક પ્રવ્રુત્તિ, નૅટવિશ્વ પર પોતાની આગવી પ્રવ્રુત્તિ- અને વિકિ કે (હવે નવો આદરાયેલો) વૅબ-ગુર્જરી જેવા પ્રયોગો અને પ્રવ્રુત્તિઓને સાંકળી લઇ, અસરકારક રીતે પ્રગતિ થતી રહે તે અંગે પણ સાથે સાથે વિચાર કરતા રહેવાનો સમય પણ્ પાકતો જાય છે. વિકિનાંમાધ્યમો પર કામ્ કરતાં લોકોની સંખ્યા વધી છે તેમ છતાં ગુણવતા જળવાઇ રહી છે, તે માટે સંચાલક મિત્રોની જહેમત અને કાળજીની પણ દાદ દેવી જ પડે. -- --Amvaishnav (talk) ૨૨:૪૦, ૧૧ ફેબ્રુઆરી ૨૦૧૩ (IST)[ઉત્તર]

congratulations, today it is now 1 year since the gu.wikisource.org subdomain was created. From the Wikimedia Incubator & Language Committee, we would like to get some feedback from newer wikis about their situation.

We prepared some questions about what we would like to know. Feel free to answer as many of them as you like.

  1. How has activity developed after the subdomain's creation? (in comparision with the situation on www.wikisource.org)
  2. Is it now easier to be found by new users?
  3. Would you have done something in a better/different way in hindsight?
  4. Is there anything where you say 'This should have been better during the testing phase (OldWikisource, Langcom)'?

  1. After getting the subdomain the activity ha become more speedy. It's like living in Rented home and living in owned home. One might not be too keen to decorate the rented house, but when one has his or her on houe he puts efoort with all its will. When we got sudomain the page count was around 1000+ after one year it is 2300+. It was during this year when we uploaded 25 books, that with all typing a there is no OCR for Gujarati Language.
  2. the new domain address is easier to found by new users.

ગુજરાતી વિકિસ્રોત પ્રસાર કાર્યક્રમ- ગુજરાત વિદ્યાપીઠ-અમદાવાદ[ફેરફાર કરો]

તા ૨૯-૦૩-૨૦૧૩, શુક્રવારના દિવસે અમદાવાદ ખાતે આવેલી ગુજરાત વિદ્યાપીઠમાં ત્યાંના પ્રાદ્યાપકો અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓ સમક્ષ વિકિસ્રોતની ઓળખ અને કાર્યશાળાનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. આ કાર્યક્રમ ધવલ વ્યાસ પાવર પોઈન્ટ પ્રેસેન્ટેશન દ્વારા સભ્યોને વિકિસ્રોત અને વિકિ પ્રકલ્પો વિશે માહિતી આપી હતી. ત્યાર બાદ સભ્યોને કોમ્પ્યુટર પર લાઈવ અકાઉન્ટ કેમ ખોલવું, ગુજરાતીમાં કેમ ટાઈપ કરવું વગેરેની માહિતી અપવામાં આવી હતી. વિદ્યાપીઠના પ્રાદ્યાપીકા વિક્સ્રોતના કાર્યથી ખૂબ પ્રભાવિત થયાં હતાં અને તેમણે આવનારા સત્રમાં અભ્યાસક્રમના પ્રોજેક્ટ રૂપે કૃતિ ચઢાવવાના પ્રયોગ હાથ ધરવાનો વિચાર વ્યક્ત કર્યો હતો. આ કાર્યક્રમમાં સુશાંત સાવલા, હર્ષ કોઠારી, ધવલ ભાવસાર, સમકિત શાહ, આકાશ પંચાલ, કોંડીચેરી વગેરે વિકિમિત્રો એ આવી સહભાગી વિદ્યાર્થીને માર્ગદર્શન આપ્યું હતું.

ગુજરાતી વિકિસ્રોતની પ્રથમ વર્ષગાંઠની ઉજવણી-જુનાગઢ[ફેરફાર કરો]

તા.૩૧/૦૩/૨૦૧૩ના રોજ જુનાગઢ ખાતે આવેલા રૂપાયતનમાં વિકિસ્રોતની પ્રથમ વર્ષગાંઠની ઉજવણી કરવામાં આવી હતી. આ કાર્યક્રમ યોજવામાં જુનાગઢના સક્રીય મિત્રો અશોક મોઢવાડિયા, વ્યોમ મજમુદાર અને નીલેષભાઈ બંધીયાનો અથાગ પ્રયત્નો રહ્યાં હતાં. રૂપાયતનના સભાખંડમાં પ્રોજેક્ટર પર પાવર પોઈંટ પ્રેસેન્ટેશન દ્વારા શ્રોતાઓને વિકિસ્રોતનો ઈતિહાસ, વિકિસ્રોત અને અન્ય વિકિ પ્રકલ્પોની માહિતી આપવામાં આવી હતી. કાર્યક્રમા સંચાલન વ્યોમ મજમુદારે કર્યું હતું. પ્રાર્થના બાદ અતિથીઓએ પ્રાસંગિક વ્યાખ્યાન કર્યું. વિકિસ્રોતની વર્ષગાંઠની ઉજવણી કેક કાપી થઈ અને સૌએ ભેગા મળી કેક ખાધી હતી. ત્યારબાદ અતિથિ રાવલસાહેબ અને રૂપાયતનના મેનેજીંગ ટ્રસ્ટી, હેમંતભાઇએ પ્રવચન આપ્યું. તેઓએ આ કાર્યક્રમને આવકારતા કહ્યું કે રૂપાયતન આવા (સાહિત્યના) કાર્યક્રમને હંમેશા આવકારે છે, અને તેમાં રૂપાયતનનો તન, મન, અને ધનથી સહયોગ રહેશે. તેમણે યુવાનોને આવી નવી પ્રવૃતિ કરવા પ્રોત્સાહન આપ્યું. પોતાના વક્તવ્યમાં તેઓએ કહ્યું કે અમે તો પાનખર છીએ, પરંતુ આ નવી પેઢી વસંત છે. તે સાહિત્ય માટે કામ કરે છે, અને ટેક્નોલોજીનો ઉપયોગ કરીને સાહિત્યની સેવા કરે છે, એ જાણી ખુબ જ આનંદ થાય છે

ત્યારબાદ ધવલ વ્યાસએ વિકિસ્રોતના ઇતિહાસ અને વિકિ પ્રકલ્પો અંગેનું પ્રેઝેન્ટેશન આપ્યું. જેમાં વિકિસ્રોત જ્યારે સહિયારા વિકિસોર્સમાં હતું, ત્યારથી લઇને તેનું ગુજરાતી ડોમેઇન અસ્તિત્વામાં આવ્યું ત્યારસુધીનો ચિતાર આપતું પ્રેઝેન્ટેશન આપ્યું. સુશાંત સાવલાએ વિકિસ્રોત શું છે? તેને કઇ રીતે વાપરવું, તથા સક્રિય સભ્યોનો પરિચય આપતું પ્રેઝેન્ટેશન આપ્યું. ત્યારબાદ લંડન સ્થિત ગુજરાતી સાહિત્ય અકાદમીના એક સભ્યનો વિકિસ્રોતની પ્રથમ વર્ષગાંઠ નિમિત્તેનો વિડિયો સંદેશ બતાવવામાં આવ્યો અને વિકિસ્રોતના સભ્યોને સર્ટીફીકેટ તથા ટી-શર્ટનું વિતરણ કરવામાં આવ્યું. નીલેશભાઈ બંધીયાએ આભાર પ્રવચન આપ્યું હતું. --Sushant savla (talk) ૧૦:૪૪, ૭ એપ્રિલ ૨૦૧૩ (IST)[ઉત્તર]

તા.૦૬/૦૪/૨૦૧૩ના રોજ મુંબઈ - બોરીવલીમાં સાંઈલીલા વેલફેર ટ્રસ્ટ અને ઝરુખોના યજમાન પદ હેઠળ વિકિસ્રોતના પ્રસારનો એક કાર્યક્રમ યોજવામાં આવ્યો હતો. કાર્યક્રમમાં વિકિસ્રોત અને અન્ય વિકિપ્રકલ્પો વિશે માહિતી આપવામાં આવી હતી અને વિકિસ્રોત પર ઝવેરચંદ મેઘાણીના પુસ્તક "દાદાજીની વાતો"નું લોકાર્પણ કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. આ પ્રસંગે નવલકથાકાર દિનકર જોશીએ પ્રમુખસ્થાને ઉપસ્થિત હતા. તે સિવાય પત્રકાર તરુ કજારિયા તથા ઝવેરચંદ મેઘાણીના પુત્રી પદ્મલાબહેન પણ ઉપસ્થિત હતા.

ધવલભઈ વ્યાસે પોતાના વક્તવ્યમં જણાવ્યું હતું કે," વિકિપીડિયા મુક્ત જ્ઞાનકોષ છે . પૈસાની અપેક્ષા વગર સ્વયંસેવકની જેમ વ્યક્તિ , લેખો તથા માહિતી વિકિપીડિયા પર ચઢાવે છે . દરેક લખાણ સાથે સંદર્ભ મૂકવામાં આવે છે અને લખનારે અમુક માપદંડોનો ખ્યાલ રાખવાનો હોય છે" . અન્ય નિયામક સુશાંત સાવલાએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે ગાંધીજીના કહેવા મુજબ વૈભવની વહેચણી સામાન્ય જન સુધી થવી જોઈએ તે વાતને ને અનુસરી વિકિસ્રોતમાં ચઢાવવામાં આવતું સાહિત્ય નિ:શુલ્ક વાંચી શકાય છે . પ્રકાશન અધિકારથી મુક્ત પુસ્તકોને જ વિકિસ્રોત પર ચઢાવવામાં આવે છે .

કવિ સંજય પંડ્યાએ શાળા કોલેજો સુધી સાહિત્યપ્રસારની પ્રવૃત્તિ લઇ જઈને વિદ્યાર્થીઓને વિકિસ્રોતમાં સાહિત્ય ચઢાવવા પ્રવૃત્ત કરવા યોજના રજુ કરી હતી . નવલકથાકાર દિનકર જોશીએ પ્રમુખસ્થાનેથી સાહિત્યપ્રસારની પ્રવૃત્તિને બિરદાવી હતી છતાં નવી ટેકનોલોજી માનવ માનવ વચ્ચે અંતર ઉભું ન કરે એનું ધ્યાન રાખવા કહ્યું હતું .

Hello! I'm not able to read nor write Gujarati, so please let me write in English.

I'm deleting the last Gujarati pages from Multilingual Wikisource that already were moved to this site in 2012. In some cases I don't know how do I have to proceed, so let me post those cases here. For the moment, just one:

mul:તારા નામમાં, ઓ સ્વતંત્રતા, મીઠી આ શી વત્સલતાભરી was deleted here because it was a duplicate of સિંધુડો/સ્વતંત્રતાની મીઠાશ. Both the page contained same poem. Hence, the earlier one was deleted. Hello everyone,

It gives us great pleasure to inform that the Wikisource Advance Training 2019 programme organised by CIS-A2K is going to be held from 11 October & 13 October 2019.This year CIS-A2K is seeking expressions of interest from interested communities in India for hosting the Wikisource Advance Training 2019.Wikisource Advance Training is a 3 (three) days residential training program for which attempts to aims to groom experienced Wiki-librarians for Indic language Wikisource to proofread even better quality content on Wikisource.

If you're interested in hosting the program, Following are the per-requests to propose a bid:

  • Active local community which is willing to support conducting the event.
  • At least 4 active Wikimedian ( not specific for Wikisource contributor) community members should come together and propose the city. They should reside in the city/nearby or states.
  • Women Wiki-librarian in organizing team is highly recommended.
  • City should have at least a national airport.
  • Venue and accommodations should be available for the event dates.
  • Participants size of Wikisource Advance Training generally will be around 22.
  • Needed a venue which will have good internet connectivity and conference space for the above mentioned size of participants.
  • Discussions/announcement with the local community by mailing list/village pump.

For participation in this program, you should apply here:

  • The selection will be done by each Indic Wikisource community.
  • We may select maximum 2 (two) Wiki-librarian from each language community.
  • Eligibility criteria for supporting a candidate for a participation: He/she should have a minimum 50 proofread in their languages Wikisource before 15th August 2019.
  • The applicant for participation in this program should have a minimum 500 proofread in their languages Wikisource before 15th August 2019.
  • Self nomination can be done at with a new section.
  • We encourage for female participants.

On 14–15 September we are organising a strategy salon/conference at Bangalore/Delhi (exact venue to be decided) It'll be a 2 days' residential event and it aims to provide a discussion platform for experienced Wikimedians in India to learn, discuss and comment about the draft recommendations. Feedback and discussions will be documented.

We encourage everyone to submit proposals until the deadline on November 11, 2019, or comment on other proposals to help make them better.

This year, we’re exclusively focusing on smaller projects (i.e., Wikibooks, Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikisource, Wikiversity, Wikispecies, Wikivoyage, and Wikinews). We want to help these projects and provide meaningful improvements to diverse communities. If you’re a member of any of these projects, please participate in the survey! This is an invitation to participate in the Community Engagement Survey, which is one of the key requirements for drafting the Conference & Event Grant application for WikiConference India 2020 to the Wikimedia Foundation. The responses will help us to form an initial idea of what is expected out of WCI 2020, and draft the grant application accordingly. Wikimedia Movement Strategy: 2020 Community Conversations[ફેરફાર કરો]

Greetings! Wishing you a very happy new year!

We have an update for the next steps of the Movement Strategy! We're preparing for a final round of community conversations with Wikimedia affiliates and online communities around a synthesized set of draft recommendations to start around late/mid January. In the meantime, recommendations’ writers and strategy team has been working on integrating community ideas and feedback into these recommendations. Thank you, for all of your contributions!

The recommendations writers have been working to consolidate the 89 recommendations produced by the working groups. They met in Berlin a few weeks back for an in-person session to produce a synthesized recommendations document which will be shared for public comment around late/mid January. A number of common areas for change were reflected in the recommendations, and the writers assessed and clustered them around these areas. The goal was to outline the overall direction of the change and present one set that is clearly understood, implementable and demonstrates the reasoning behind each.

We will be reaching out to you to help engage your affiliate in discussing this new synthesized version. Your input in helping us refine and advance key ideas will be invaluable, and we are looking forward to engaging with you for a period of thirty days from late/mid January. Our final consultation round is to give communities a chance to "review and discuss" the draft recommendations, highlighting areas of support and concern as well as indicating how your community would be affected.

Please share ideas on how you would like to meet and discuss the final draft recommendations when they are released near Mid January whether through your strategy salons, joining us at global and regional events, joining online conversations, or sending in notes from affiliate discussions. We couldn't do this without you, and hope that you will enjoy seeing your input reflected in the next draft and final recommendations. This will be an opportunity for the movement to review and respond to the recommendations before they are finalized.

If possible, we'd love if you could feature a discussion of the draft recommendations at the next in-person meeting of your affiliate, ideally between the last week of January and the first week of February. If not, please let us know how we can help support you with online conversations and discussing how the draft recommendations fit with the ideas shared at your strategy salon (when applicable).

The input communities have shared so far has been carefully documented, analyzed, and folded into the synthesized draft recommendations. Communities will be able to see footnotes referencing community ideas. What they share again in January/February will be given the same care, seriousness, and transparency.

This final round of community feedback will be presented to the Board of Trustees alongside the final recommendations that will be shared at the Wikimedia Summit.

Dear Affiliate Representatives and community members,

The launch of our final round of community conversation is finally here! We are excited to have the opportunity to invite you to take part. 
The recommendations have been published! Please take time over the next five weeks to review and help us understand how your organization and community would be impacted.

What Does This Mean?

The core recommendations document has now been published on Meta in Arabic, English, French, German, Hindi, Portuguese, and Spanish. This is the result of more than a year of dedicated work by our working groups, and we are pleased to share the evolution of their work for your final consideration. 
In addition to the recommendations text, you can read through key documents such as Principles, Process, and the Writer’s Reflections, which lend important context to this work and highlight the ways that the recommendations are conceptually interlinked.
We also have a brief Narrative of Change [5] which offers a summary introduction to the recommendations material. 

How Is My Input Reflected In This Work?

Community input played an important role in the drafting of these recommendations. The core recommendations document reflects this and cites community input throughout in footnotes. I also encourage you to take a look at our community input summaries. These texts show a further analysis of how all of the ideas you shared last year through online conversations, affiliate meetings, and strategy salons connect to recommendations. Many of the community notes and reports not footnoted in the core recommendations document are referenced here as evidence of the incredible convergence of ideas that have brought us this far.  

What Happens Now?

Affiliates, online communities, and other stakeholders have the next five weeks to discuss and share feedback on these recommendations. In particular, we’re hoping to better understand how you think they would impact our movement - what benefits and opportunities do you foresee for your affiliate, and why? What challenges or barriers would they pose for you? Your input at this stage is vital, and we’d like to warmly invite you to participate in this final discussion period.

We encourage volunteer discussion co-ordinators for facilitating these discussions in your local language community on-wiki, on social media, informal or formal meet ups, on-hangouts, IRC or the village pump of your project. Please collect a report from these channels or conversations and connect with me directly so that I can be sure your input is collected and used. Alternatively, you can also post the feedback on the meta talk pages of the respective recommendations.

After this five week period, the Core Team will publish a summary report of input from across affiliates, online communities, and other stakeholders for public review before the recommendations are finalized. You can view our updated timeline here as well as an updated FAQ section that addresses topics like the goal of this current period, the various components of the draft recommendations, and what’s next in more detail.

As COVID-19 has forced the Wikimedia communities to stay at home and like many other affiliates, CIS-A2K has decided to suspend all offline activities till 15th September 2020 (or till further notice). I present to you for an online training session for future coming months.

1. Wikisource Skill Share, a capacity-building initiative, where Indic Wikisource contributors, both newcomers and experienced, can share knowledge and skills with each other and clear confusions. Most of the time, it will be done online on 1:1 basis, so it is just the right time to participate there if you have not planned to do it or done it already. Let's learn Wikisource together! I would like to invite experienced Indic Wikisource contributors and sign your name at Willing to respond section. Newcomer or any Indic Wikisource contributors are welcome to join the session with your queries and doubts.

2. Intensive Personalized Training (or IPT), this also a capacity-building initiative, where Indic Wikisource contributors, especially newcomers could come with his/her queries and doubts. I, myself will share my knowledge and skills with each contributor and clear confusions. It will be done online on a 1:1 basis, so it is just the right time to participate there if you have not planned to do so.

3. Online Proofread-edithon for all 12 Indic Wikisource language projects. We are planning for an indic level online proofreadthon from 1 May 2020 to 10 May 2020. The book of the subject will be the classical literature of your languages. We’ll share details about this in a separate email/announcement in a couple of days.

WHAT DO YOU NEED

  • Booklist: a collection of books to be proofread. Kindly help us to find some classical literature your language. The book should not be available in any third party website with Unicode formatted text. Please collect the books and add our event page book list.
  • Participants: Kindly sign your name at Participants section if you wish to participant this event.
  • Reviewer: Kindly promote yourself as administrator/reviewer of this proofreadthon and add your proposal here. The administrator/reviewers could participate in this Proofreadthon.
  • Some social media coverage: I would request to all Indic Wikisource community member, please spread the news to all social media channel, we always try to convince it your Wikipedia/Wikisource to use their SiteNotice. Of course, you must also use your own Wikisource site notice.
  • Some awards: There may be some award/prize given by CIS-A2K.

Greetings! We are pleased to inform that the 2030 movement strategy recommendations have been published on Meta-wiki. Over the last two years, our movement has worked tirelessly to produce these ideas to change our shared future. Many of you participated in the online conversations, hosted strategy salons, attended regional events, and connected with us in-person at Wikimania. These contributions were invaluable, and will help make our movement stronger for years to come. 

The finished set of 10 recommendations emphasizes many of our core values, such as equity, innovation, safety, and coordination, while tasking us jointly to turn this vision into a reality. These recommendations clarify and refine the previous version, which was published in January this year. They are at a high strategic level so that the ideas are flexible enough to be adapted to different global and local settings and will allow us to navigate future challenges. Along with the recommendations, we have outlined 10 underlying principles, a narrative of change, and a glossary of key terms for better context.

The recommendations are available in numerous languages, including Arabic, German, Hindi, English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish for you to read and share widely. We encourage you to read the recommendations in your own time and at your own pace, either online or in a PDF. There are a couple of other formats for you to take a deeper dive if you wish, such as a one-page summary, slides, and office hours, all collected on Meta. If you would like to comment, you are welcome to do so on the Meta talk pages. However, please note that these are the final version of the recommendations. No further edits will be made. This final version of the recommendations embodies an aspiration for how the Wikimedia movement should continue to change in order to advance that direction and meet the Wikimedia vision in a changing world. 

In terms of next steps, our focus now shifts toward implementation. In light of the cancellation of the Wikimedia Summit, the Wikimedia Foundation is determining the best steps for moving forward through a series of virtual events over the coming months. We will also be hosting live office hours in the next coming few days, where you can join us to celebrate the Strategy and ask questions! Firstly, to give you context, Small wiki toolkits (SWT) is an initiative to support small wiki communities, to learn and share technical and semi-technical skills to support, maintain, and grow. We are happy to inform you that the SWT group has planned a series of four online workshops for Indic Wikimedia community members during June & July 2020. These workshops have been specifically designed and curated for Indic communities, based on a survey conducted early this year. The four workshops planned in this regard are;

  • Understanding the technical challenges of Indic language wikis (by Birgit): Brainstorming about technical challenges faced by contributors to Indic language Wikimedia projects.
  • Writing user scripts & gadgets (by Jayprakash12345): Basics to intermediate-level training on writing user scripts (Javascript and jQuery fundamentals are prerequisites).
  • Using project management & bug reporting tool Phabricator (by Andre): Introduction to Phabricator, a tool used for project management and software bug reporting.
  • Writing Wikidata queries (by Mahir256): Introduction to the Wikidata Query Service, from writing simple queries to constructing complex visualizations of structured data.

I am pleased to announce that the Community Tech team at WMF has posted our August update on the Wikisource Ebook Export Improvement project! This project came out of our 2020 Community Wishlist Survey, and it was the #1 wish voted on by survey participants.

So, what does this mean? In short, we want your feedback! Now that we have posted the August update, we want to know what you think. The update includes findings from our community consultation, results from two separate analyses conducted by the team (on improving WSExport reliability & font rendering support), and proposed next steps. It is our hope that people can read our analysis, share their feedback, and engage in a conversation with us on the talk page. Your feedback will be invaluable, and it will help determine the next steps of the project.

Wikisource Pagelist Widget: Wikisource Meetup (29th September 2020)[ફેરફાર કરો]

We hope you are doing well!

We reached out to you a couple of weeks ago to share that Wikisource Pagelist Widget is now ready to be enabled to Wikisource. Since then, many language Wikisources have enabled the widget but many are yet to do so.

So, we have decided to organize a Wikisource Meetup to give a live demonstration on how to use the widget in both wikitext and visual modes. There will be some time for the participants to share their feedback and experience with the widget. We will also provide support in case some Wikisource communities are seeking help in enabling the widget.

The meetup will take place on 29 September 2020 at 9:30 AM UTC or 3 PM IST. Google Meet link for the meeting is: http://meet.google.com/khu-dfph-qsd

Looking forward to seeing the global Wikisource community connect amid these difficult times when physical meetings have not been taking place.

Regional Call for South Asia - Oct. 30[ફેરફાર કરો]

Hi everyone. The time has come to put Movement Strategy into work and we need your help. We are inviting South Asian communities, Indian Wikimedians, and anyone else interested to join a region-focused conversation on Movement Strategy and implementation. Please join us on Friday Oct. 30 at 19.30 / 7:30 pm IST (Google Meet).

The purpose of the meeting is to get prepared for global conversations, to identify priorities for implementation in 2021, and to plan the following steps. There are 10 recommendations and they propose multiple 45 initiatives written over two years by many Wikimedians. It is now up to communities to decide which ones we should work on together in 2021, starting with local and regional conversations. Global meetings will take place later in November when we will discuss global coordination and resources. More information about the global events will be shared soon.

  • What is work you’re already doing that is aligned with Movement Strategy?
  • What are priorities for you in 2021?
  • What are things we should all work on globally?

We would not be able to grow and diversify as a movement if communities from South Asia are not meaningfully involved in implementing the recommendations. Join the conversation with your questions and ideas, or just come to say hi. See you on Friday October 30.

It has been 15 days since Indic Wikisource Proofreadthon 2020 online proofreading contest has started and your communities have been performing extremely well.
However, the 15 days contest comes to end on today, 15 November 2020 at 11.59 PM IST. We thank you for your contribution tirelessly for the last 15 days and we wish you continue the same in future events!

Apart from this contest end date, we will declare the final result on 20th November 2020. We are requesting you, please re-check your contribution once again. This extra-time will be for re-checking the whole contest for admin/reviewer. The contest admin/reviewer has a right revert any proofread/validation as per your language community standard. We accept and respect different language community and their different community proofreading standards. Each Indic Wikisource language community user (including admins or sysops) have the responsibility to maintain their quality of proofreading what you have set.

We are excited to announce that submission for session proposals has been opened for Wikimedia Wikimeet India 2021, the upcoming online wiki-event which is to be conducted from 19 – 21 February 2021 during the occasion of International Mother Language Day. The submission will remain open until 24 January 2021.

A program team has been formed recently from highly experienced Wikimedia volunteers within and outside India. It is currently under the process of expansion to include more diversity in the team. The team will evaluate the submissions, accept, modify or reject them, design and finalise the program schedule by the end of January 2021. Details about the team will come soon.

We are sure that you will share some of your most inspiring stories and conduct some really exciting sessions during the event. Best of luck for your submissions!
